What did you do to the X today?
Mike, this last detail was done by a local car wash. I will ask them next time I go in for details. They started with a clay bar, then went on to compound with a double headed wheel. Then to the wax that looked like there own blend done with a single head wheel, I know that the 2 carnauba coats were applied by a orbiter wheel ( I was there for that stage) the black paint by then was shiny and deep. When I thought they were done they started spraying a liquid (maybe another type of finish wax but not sure). The results are amazing, truck is the smoothest I've ever had her, I'm a nut when it comes to clean cars but never recall a better detail. I'm glad I had them do this, because they normally wax her every 30 days but I asked for clay bar and compound after Andy (snow seeker) showed off his roof pics (thanks Andy).
Well, i just got home from a awesome little camping trip. Went up to nearly the same place we did over the Forth of July. But this time i towed with my new F-150, holy crap what a amazing tow rig it is! I have to agree with Tom and his opinions he came to with his 2013 F-150 towing heavy...its just a awesome platform. I by no means am towing heavy..5,300ish lbs trailer fully loaded with a 4 wheeler and extra fuel in the truck bed. Same highway i took last month, road conditions almost identical..i'm very pleased. Now with that said my Ex does need spring upgrades i cheeped out, but the power of the 6.2 along with the 6 speed tranny along with very responsive steering made it a dream.
i won't load ya'll up on F-150 pics..just a few The Ex was tucked in safe and sound in the driveway.
i really miss the Ex's 08-up towing mirrors!!
This cabin was a nice little adventure to get to, built in the 70s so says the owner.

I've only put about 2,000 miles on mine with the Rancho 5410 and it's already leaking oil. Keep the box it comes in and your paperwork. I'm taking mine off and bringing it to a Tenneco Dealer in my area for warrenty.
steering damper....maybe I had no luck in row or all of these shocks sucks, read, the quality is crap. Im a firm Bilstein believer.....

Looks good.
The Ex holds the trailer fine when i dont have it way overloaded in the nose (to much crap we seem to bring) also with my 2.5" lift shackles in the front even unloaded the rear looks lower then the front. half the time the photos i get of the Ex and trailer are on uneven ground.
to compare
I've thought about the tow mirrors but, i can't see spending an arm and a leg for the factory ones that have all the features mine do. Power fold, puddle lamp, signals...plus my drivers mirror auto dims when headlights hit it, i'm not sure of the tow mirrors do that? Lastly i don't want to ruin the classy lines of the Limited.

The thought briefly crossed my mind, I think i'll just deal with it. i don't wanna scratch up the mirrors with the slide on's. Time will tell how i deal with it. I know i'll still be taking the Excursion on trips it just depends on my needs at the location we pick.
