2. F-350's didn't get Cat's til the late '80s, it's a GVW thing. (Mine, as well as your's, has a PCV valve)
3. Because it doesn't have current tag's.
4. You wanna cruise, Riverside, Find it, you can LOOK at it.

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation, mandated beginning in 1961 for all vehicles sold new in CA.
So, your truck does have some emission equipment and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it has the Evap Emission System since it was sold new in CA.
Oh, and by the way kiddo, your in-experience is showing. 1977 was the FIRST year F350's came with catalytic converters.
Open your peepers and look in the parts catalog: Text Section 52.1 page 6, right hand column...there are the applications.

My truck doesn't have any evap stuff, that I know of, it may have been removed, like I said, it's had an engine swap, so who know's...
Bill, I almost bought a original '64 F-350 from the 2nd owner, who only had it a month, the original owner was in the process of restroing it and died, it had a 292 and a T-98 Borg Warner, this thing was geared low!
It sold before you got back here, I couldn't come up with the money fast enough. The battery, like the 4x4s, was under a panel on the passenger side. The rebuilt 292 had 100 miles on it. The old man owned a chrome shop and redid the headlight bezels, and the front bumper, so they were mint condition.

I noticed a thread where you were trying to raise dinero for that old rolling pile of miseries. You should thank your lucky stars you didn't.
F350's of that era have leaf springs front and rear, so ride like an oxcart. The drum brakes are as archaic as the Stone Age and are horribly inadequate for today's traffic. No P/S was available, so trying to park the elephant is no picnic.
No one wants a flatbed, people that buy old trucks usually want pickups or panels. The wheels are 6 lug, with a 7.25" bolt circle, most are either 17.5" or 19.5" and are widow makers.
Finding someone to dismount the tires from the wheels in today's world ain't EZ, finding tires for these wheels is no picnic, either. Forgetaboutit!
Look for something you can get parts for and has modern amenities, like a no CA smog test 1973/75 F100 w/a 302/C4 with P/S & P/D/B.
Original: As it rolled off the assembly line. A vehicle that had been rechromed, or repainted or had the engine rebuilt is not original.
