'04 Navigator: Help me find the reverse wire for backup cam!

Hey guys, I just installed a Pioneer Avic-Z110BT head unit in my Navigator. Also installed a backup camera, but I need to find somwhere to tap into for the reverse wire on the head unit. It needs to be hot when in reverse, and not when not in reverse!

Can anybody direct me where to go?

Thanks!

If you have a 7 pin wiring harness for a trailer, the purple wire is the reverse circuit.

How about just tapping into one of the reverse lights back there?

Are you talking about the harness under the dash or at the bumper?

Checked under the dash, and the harness there is a 5 pin, so I am guessing you are talking about at the bumper.

I would prefer something under the dash, as that is where the wire is from the head unit harness. The camera is already installed, with power.

Any thoughts?

I can not confirm because I have not done it yet. But other people including best buy say it is black/pink and it is in the drivers kick panel. Another forum though said it is black/purple. So those are two you can try. Hope this helps and please report back, Mike

I was talking about at the bumper. I assumed the power lead you needed would be in the back by the camera. Not sure on the under dash situation.
