No battery/voltage gauge

Certainly not a huge issue but it was a nice security blanket on past trucks.
Has anyone purchased an after-market model they would recommend?
It won't be an issue perhaps for a few years but eventually I will want this info displayed.

In addition, just thought of this, with all the external 12v power outlets available (I've got 3) it would also be nice for monitoring draw if I purchase a 300w inverter (power tools).

I put an aftermarket one in my old vehicle... as far as brands go, i would go the the parts store and find one that you like and matches your interior. If you have the small cubby holes in the center of you dash i would suggest putting them there... also if you have that ridiculous little change holder thingy to the right of your steering column you could pull it out and put it there.

Hope this helps.

Get yourself a scanguageII from Autozone, and purchase the Mirror mount kit.
I did this on my 07 F-150XL,and couldnt be happier. It will read out any number of paramteters, including voltage, and when mounted with the rear view mirror mount, looks OEM.
It will also act as an OBDII code reader.Plugs into the OBDII port under the steering wheel
I DONT work for AZ,and rarely use any of their products, but this really works, and you can also get real time fuel economy.
I strongly suggest you research this unit...It has saved me a BUNDLE on fuel cost, just by making me aware of my heavy foot......

I put a digital voltage test meter on my 2004 F-250. It also has no amp/volt meter. I bought mine at Walmart for $15.99. It goes in your power port or ciggarete lighter port. They only thing is that it will be powered all the time, even when the truck is off. You could put a switch in the power line to the port though.
