96 f150 5.8 no spark, code p0320?

Hey having trouble, my truck keeps dying. It will restart after 30min. No spark coming from coil wire. I have 12 volts at coil with key on. I got a motorcraft black ig module. sensor on crank, twice.Coil. I put cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. Getting a po320 code. Do you think it's the pip sensor in the distributor? It acts like a heat problem. thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site.

Change the stator assembly in the distributor. It has a bad PIP sensor in the stator assembly.
Turn the engine until it is at TDC and #1 is on its compression stroke. Pull the distributor out and tear it all the way down, replace the stator, put the distributor back in and time it at 10* BTDC with the SPOUT out. Then put the SPOUT back in and check to see if the timing has moved some, if so you are good to go.

You can also buy a new distributor but I would not trust a rebuilt distributor as most of them have bad PIP sensors in them also. You will just be taking back or replacing the stator in one of them.

The distributor is about the same. Just bring number one up @ TDC on its compression stroke like you did the old one.
Unbolt the hold down bolt the same as the old one. Unplug it and pull it out.
Punch out the roll pin and pull off the gear at the bottom same as the point type.
Take the cap and rotor off of it and pull the shaft out the top. Unscrew the stator assy. and screw the new stator in.
It goes back to in the same as the old type did with the rotor pointing at #1 on the cap.
Do not turn the motor with the distributor out.
Hook up the timing light the same as the point type.
Here is something different, pull the SPOUT shorting bar out over on the drivers fender by the ICM.
Now start the engine and time it like the old type with the timing light to 10 * BTDC.
Tighten the bolt and recheck the timing. Push the SPOUT back in and recheck the timing, it should have moved. If it did you are good to go.

The SPOUT:
