Ok first off the original truck is long gone.

I have a 7.3 non turbo from a 93 f350 2wd/5speed. This is going into a 75 f250 frame with a 48 IH body. I understand how to make the starter work but don't know what all I need to make it run and shut off.

Ill go to the shop tommarow and take pics of the plugs I really have questions on also.

So far here's what it looks like-

 

all you really need to make the engine run is 12 volts to the fuel shut off switch, and starter power.
but working glow plugs are nice to have.

switched 12v to the FSS as TJC described is all it takes to switch it on and off. glow plugs are nice to have, many people set them up on a pushbutton if they don't like the factory controller, or you can look in the stickys on top of this page to really understand how the glow plug system works, and see what it takes to wire it up

 

Cold start timing advance & high idle are also nice. The same power source as the FSS can be wired to the engine temp switch, then the other side of the engine temp switch to the cold timing advance and the cold idle solenoid.

 

Red wire on IP, there are 3 prongs, if you dunno which is which 12v to all 3 wont hurt anything to start it up. For the glow plugs, assuming everything is intact, there will be two big black / orange wires that went to the fender starter solenoid, hook those to battery power and jump the GP solenoid for 10sec, then jump the starter solenoid and that should get her fired.

And then there is this silinoid on the back of the motor.... Not sure what it does but someone added red wires to it.

 

the solenoid on the back of the engine is the glow plug controller.
the "fuel return line" correct. that goes back to the fuel tank.
the plug on the trans is for reverse lights.
not sure what the first two pics wires are for.

And the reverse lights.... Ya they won't be hooked up ill Probibly have fog lights in there somewhere.

 

First pic is the hot wires for the glow plugs, the connector im not sure, second is the main engine harness i believe. Then fuel return line, then reverse lights, then the wires must be for a push button someone added to run the glow plugs.

 

Pic two is the engain harness,
The red and light green wire is hot in run and start that should make it run,
