I honestly didn't even watch the damn vid because my internet connection was acting up, but the dentside reference came from his other truck I saw in a vid in the 73-79 forum, where people gave him such a hard time for "abusing his classic piece of history" or whatev. I just assumed the vid was about the truck in his avatar. BTW twas the wierdest thing I found some of his vids on youtube right before he posted his vid in the dent forum. He has a decently sick truck. I wish I had a dent....
Id really love to see some engine specs though. I want to know what makes a 500hp 400"M" tick. Kaase made 660 IIRC with his EMC engine so its certainly possible but I have little faith in this guy.
Well, I'd like to know too, being they start life under 200 hp. If I remember right close to the 170ish mark. They are under estimated motors for sure.

I posted some specs earlier somewhere. I'll have to dig up the paperwork again to post them for you guys and yes, I didn't turn the wrench on this $30k+ in parts build. I'm a tax attorney (I know you guys will love to run with this one, but hey) and love my F150 and learn a lot on these threads. I enjoy maintaining (and yes, I do some of the maintenance myself), upgrading, and driving my truck. Have at it you guys. I also know about the 400 and it's "M". Just like the term highboy, it became what it became and most people I talk to know it as a 400M. I've done a lot of research on this truck and am good friends with her restorer.
But word of advice, stop callin it a M, it makes you look stupid. If people don't know what motor you are talking about when u say 400, they aren't worth talkin to about it.

Will do.

holy bat chit overload.
Ive got around 10-12k in mine to include the body/paint work I farmed out and the original cost of the truck.
and in all your research did you find that "M" stands for Miserable?
It's a 77 and I didn't pay him or anyone to restore it. My friend and his son restored it slowly over an 8 year period and I bought it from them. That's what they had in it for parts. The 1,000's of hours they have in it's restoration was their own labor of love. I added some upgrades since my purchase, but they did the majority (99%) of the work. They are mechanics and lovers of Fords themselves, but some of the work was done by professionals of their own trade, ie: vinyl top-an upholstery shop, engine-racing engine manufacturer, paint-body shop. Most everything else they did themselves as most guys on here claim to do. They never intended to sell it, it just happened for many reasons.
My experience with FTE thus far has been a good one. I have made friends in the Maine Chapter and even are getting together with others at car shows and such. I've also learned a lot about the mechanics, history, upkeep and repair of these old dents and look forward to getting another one some day.
