"I have also been stuck on wet grass on a slight hill...VERY embarassing!"

HI & welcome St. NIck .. you'll find that 4x4 useful up on the north pole ..

mine is normaly open rear (one wheel peel) but has 4x4 and front lockers .. so it goes everywhere in all conditions ..

though when in a deep mud rut .. it'll just spin till i go out and lock the hubs ..

then it grips like it's glued to the earth ..

non locked 4x4 high (loose 3x4 hi b/cuz open rear) works absolutely great on icy .. snowy .. washed out wet road conditions .. and very good road traction ..

it's very versatile .. the 4x4 .. you can 'turn it up' or 'down' as conditions merrit and it's so usefull .. and it's not possible to get stuck ANYWHERE .. with 4x4 and large BFG KO tires ..

Out of the 14 rust free ones I found within a 10 hour drive, 2 were 4x4. Thsi will be a summer only truck that doesn't do much work, so I'll settle for 2wd if I have to. Just wondering how many of you have them.....

Also, can you buy leveling kits for the 2wd diesel's?
just bought this one
1987 6.9 ZF5 2wd
1 owner, 110,000 original miles

And yes, you could buy leveling kits for these trucks
