ihave a v10 that will not stay running unless i keep my foot on the gas pedal. sometimes it will start and run fine other time it will start and then shut right off. will not just idle? any help

 

Most likely the IAC (Idle Air Control) sensor needs cleaning or replacing ... or you may have an intermittent vacuum leak. My bet is the IAC.

 

I had the same problem! I was ready to replace my IAC, when a Ford Tech suggested I check all of my vacuum lines, so I did and I had a few cracked ends, cleaned them up and trimmed off the bad and shes runs like a champ now!

Not saying it will solve your problem, but it might help...

 

Oh and I also went against the grain....

I turned my idle up just a smidgeon!
