Good night Marshall.
Neil - so you say a log load lasts most of the winter for you then? That's not bad. I go through about 2-3 tanks (275 gallon) a winter at around $450-500 a pop depending on what oil is going for and how hard the weather is. This winter, if I'm still out here working, should be less, since I won't be home as much and pounding on the heat - just enough to keep things from freezing.

Yeah Bill it does. This winter is a 'free' winter because last year I knew that I was going to be close so I got this load. I ended up this spring having enough leftover that it equalled what I had cut from this load.
I figure that I need to buy a load each year for 3 or 4 years, then the following year, I will have enough left over so that I can get by without getting a load.
When I run the figures for the logs, splitter rental and gas/oil for my saw and splitter, I can heat my house for the winter for an average of about $90 a month.
