I always wondered if there was a fix for that! My 95 F150 shook like hell, and my 97 F350 rides so stiff, that it has a bit of a shake to it as well.

Yeah, I'd like to get one of those. I did a search on ebay and couldn't find you. Can you point me in the right direction?

Seriously guys...The factory repair kit is simply an L bracket...In a glorified baggie...

I mean...They want $18+ for it...The hardware store wants $1....Go figure..

Its behind the kick panel...SO no one is gonna see it anyways...

A lot of people would rather buy a kit, and do it the "right" way, than go the cheap way n make some "cobbled repair" like some of us do.

I fully understand that point...But the facts are, that kit is DISCONTINUED.....

besides, like I said....L bracket vs L bracket....Does it really affect the value of the truck that much, that people will be all picky and pissy over a $1 piece of metal, that only THEY know is there?

Geez.....A repair is a repair..COBBLING, is when you "Repair" it and it falls apart 5 minutes later..

Well, when I can do it right, I do. Over the years I've spent good money on things that filled the niche at the time - only to have those parts usually go bad prematurely or never work exactly right in the first place and limp along doing half their job until I get sick of dealing with them and then - do it right. Tell me you haven't done the same thing. It's not about resale. It's about hopefully spending my precious time to fix something right and have it stay fixed this time.

Again, I understand that...

I just don't get why a Ford logo will make that L bracket any stronger?

Not being a dick...But its as broad as it is long...

There is nothing wrong with the hardware store repair, but I would still rather have the kit.

I went to the hardware store and got an "L" bracket about 2x2 and a couple sheetmetal screws. Works great.cost was about 42 cents.

I've had the 2x2 L bracket fix for a couple years now. It works and it was cheap. I must have done it wrong, though, because I can see a little of the bracket sticking out from under the dash. Big deal? No. Slightly annoying? Yes. "Blame it on my ADD, baby..." On another note, I'm glad I have the time to sit and debate such a meaningless topic, lol.
