need quick answer been searching but havent found the answer

i got my edge insight installed and have made 3 short trips so far 20 to 30 miles each. my ECT reached 190. my EOT Went as high as 222 on the last trip A/c on max about 95 degrees air temp. so to by me some time i am thinking i need to diconnect my egr valve until i can fix it properly. can i discoonect the valve at any time and it will be closed or do i have to wait for the enigine to cool down?

Probably shouldn't matter but wait until morning, prior to starting and disconnect it, when its nice and cool. Do you have any smoke at idle?
My temps are continually higher than you have posted. I would love to delete my egr and get an after market oil cooler. just need to put on 32 k miles until warranty is gone. Then its upgrade time. Good luck guy

Disconnecting the egr is not gonna buy you any time. If your oil cooler is clogged it's clogged. You could try flushing your coolant with vc-9 and distilled water. There's some right ups on how to do. Good luck.

my thoughts was that if i shutt of the egr exhaust to the egr cooler that even if the oil cooler plugged up it wouldnt cause the egr cooler to come apart. i just flushed out the coolant a month ago. no other syptoms no coolant loss or puking just this readings from the insight

The coolant to the oil cooler is not flowing properly because the oil cooler passageways on the "coolant" side are plugged. You do not want to operate your vehicle with the oil not being cooled properly. Nevermind the EGR cooler.

worth a read.

also disconnecting an egr valve will not change anything at all
