1999 stock radio question

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 1999 f150 in great condition. Everything runs great with one exception, the radio. The radio works fine but there is no lighting that comes on so you cannot see which radio station you have on, ect. It came with a 6 cd changer that also works and im wondering if that may have something to do with the lighting? Does anyone know if there is a simple solution to this problem, though i have a feeling it will require sodering. Any ideas, solutions appreciated, thanks!

its a cd/casset player, i guess well have to put up with blindly finding channels for now, at least it works. Do you happen to know if the 6 cd changer in the center glove box came from the dealer? the way its in there does not look like someone threw it in there, if they did they did a real good job.

The CD changers were installed in the center console at the factory.
