Why does everybody only want a "bolt on" kit. Use the f150 kit with a custom dyno tune.
Done.

hmm, yeah that makes sense..Unfortunately :-( I WANT ONE ! I wonder...sorry I haven't searched, but has anyone successfully installed one? I would assume it's similar to the F150 boost package, but it would require dyno tuning and a trans tune similar to something from 5star for the SD.

It's quite simple to install one. Buy the F150 'kit", and just do it. If the "kit" is a successful install on an F150,then it'll be a successful install on an F250. The only differences are some things that you may have to fabricate or modify, but nothing that's impossible. Contact someone about dyno tuning beforehand, and discuss what's gonna be needed for their end before you start the install, or take it to them to do it all.

If you view the link below, you have 95% of the details needed to install the Whipple supercharger on a Super Duty. What was not discussed by the FTE user was that the unit was running at near 100% capacity due to a poor fuel supply. That's why I stated that the only outstanding issue was identifying a new fuel pump so that more power and reliability.

Awesome info !

Are you saying they were unable to find a pump that would get the job done?
I wonder if something like a boost a pump would suffice.

Time for research ! !

So...If I started making mounting solutions for these things would people be interested?

ProCharger Truck/SUV Systems

Procharger sells complete kits for them. Their pictures show an f150, but they told me that they included all trucks and suv's with the 2v or 3v 5.4 when I called them about a year ago.

cool news. I personally would rather have a twin screw but curious just the same about piping and everything. Definitely worth another phone call for a refresher. I know the centrifugal is better anyway and i'm sure it heat soaks less. Something new for me to try ! ! ! ! I just can't see that much being different aside from the intake mounting....which would be a pretty easy fab I would think.

This is not good :-) I need to stop researching this yesterNOW. I'm going to see my buddy this weekend w/ his 5.4 3V 05 F150 and I want to see it directly beside my 06 5.4 3V on the 350SD. I just can't see them changing a thing.....for cost/benefit reasons at least. I think the only difference would be intake?? Agreed.

It's nice to see, it looks like you can quiet those prochargers down w/ a helical gear set. I can't stand the chatter of them just idling.

I think a twin screw project would be more fun but the air/air intercooling and "off site" charger I think are better for the motor overall.

ATI Procharger

i put a ATI Procharger on my 2002 supercrew F150 4x4. dyno with 42 lbs injectors and two fuel pumps 404 horsepower and 380 torque and thats to the rear wheels. i pull a 18 foot runabout boat with no problems. going up hills i the one passing. put it on myself and took about 3 days. oiling is self contained and has to be changed every 6000 miles. have to run the good gas but its a lot of fun...

During my sunday powerblock ritual I saw the edelbrock too. It's a little too dressy for me but i'm sure all that is just plastic sheething....But it appears to be the same case. It's all for F150's.

I'm guessing aside from making a custom intake, everything else (besides tuning) should be turn key for any 5.4 3V. The tuning should take care of the trans differences...i'm guessing. I will dig much deeper but for now I want to finish my svt focus build. One rig at a time so I don't burry myself. I'll stick to the bilsteins and the dual stabilizer bar for now.

If anyone gets updated info, please post. I think i'm going to give Edelbrock a buzz in the morning and see why they are not in the Super Duty market and see what they say.

415dad, what are you getting for fuel economy w/ your F150?
