My 2011 F-150's Power seats saved my life.

I've got a short story to tell for those who are intrested.

Back in June when I was talking with dealers about what options I did and didn't want on my new truck, I tried to be very selective. Power Seats were not something I really cared to have, but unfortunatly for me they came with the FX4-Plus package my truck had (Which had other things I wanted)...So I was stuck with them...Well I got the truck, set the seats in the most comfortable position and never touched them again....

....Until December 4th of this year. I went for a long walk in a realtivly remote area that I was mostly unfamiler with, The total walk was about 6 miles, Well...I was about 2 miles away from the parking area in which my truck was parked when I slipped down a narrow ravine and broke my leg...My tibia had completely snapped. I was alone and I am one of the very few people under the age of 30 that does not carry a cell phone...At the time this happend it was getting late and the sun was going down, I had to grit my teeth and stand on a broken leg and walk 2 VERY long miles back to the parking area where my truck was, I walked along side the road hoping that someone would see me, but unfortunatly no cars passed by, After the most misrable 2 miles of my life I managed to get to my truck. Of course the parking lot was empty and it was dark outside. Upon opening my door I realized that it would be phyiscally impossible for me to get into my realtivly tall truck with no side steps. However the powerseats came to save the day, I lowered the seat as low as it would go and just barely managed to muster up enough strength to drag myself into the truck.

With all that done, I drove myself to the ER and had surgery the very next morning to repair my tibia. I am very fortunate that there was no permanant damage to my leg and I am expected to make a full recovery...The only real bit of bad new's here is that I'll be out of work for 8-weeks without pay...But I have some pretty great family members who are pitching in to help me out.

Anyway I just wanted to share this little story with everyone...I still can't beleive that this has happened to me. I guess saying power seats saved my life is a little bit of a stretch, but they certianly helped out when I needed them the most!

Great story with a happy ending. Glad you're ok. I aways felt the same way about power seats, but they came in handy for you that time. Take care of that leg and you'll be back to your old self before you know it.

Glad to hear you are doing okay. Good luck with getting that leg mended up. Rest & don't push yourself too hard.

I never gave much thought to power seats, as they would be adjusted and then never touched. And then I got married. Now I love them. My wife can & I are separated by a foot in height. It is almost impossible for me to get into the truck with her seat settings, and where the mirrors get adjusted to, they are simply unusable. One click of my remote, and the seat & mirrors are back to my settings. No fuss. No muss.

More recently, I found that they are also invaluable for those times when your back goes out inexplicably. One never realizes just what all it takes to adjust a seat...until you try to do so with your back screaming bloody murder.

I to am happey to hear that Your alright. But, saying that the seats saved Your life is a stretch.

While in High School, one of My good Friends Father fell off a front end loader, and broke His leg. The Pit was 25 Miles from town, no cell. He disconnected the trailer off the dump truck, climbed up into the cab, drove home. When We came home after school, He was in the Tub. Said He couldn't go to the ER as dirty as He was!

Yeah I know it is a stretch saying power seats ''Saved me'' but it seemed like a cool title for the story none the less. Actually to this day they are still helping out some, I just keep them lowered as much as possible which really eases getting in and out of my truck.

As far as your good friends father go's...That's crazy! Haha, the last thing on my mind was getting a bath. Sounds like he was one tough hombre!
