So you just leave it in its spot with the harness plugged in and no cel's?

CAMPINGTOM, thanks for the referral for John, my truck is at his house now getting torn down.

Cheesit did himself proud and the folks a grand service when he revealed this pearl of wisdom regarding fan operation.
For those who choose to block off and lay the valve atop the engine. Why not just reinstall it. It would seem to be a cleaner look not to mention that it is reason for rejection in those jurisdictions that have "visual only"inspections.

because they can get stuck open also it should still throw codes even if it isn't doing what it is supposed to do even though it is cycling

Forgive my inability to follow, but I have more trouble understanding this than I do someone who does it because everyone else did it.
So here gos. Suppose the valve sticks open, what changes in as far as the engine operation? I would think the block off plate duplicates a stuck 100% open valve.

oh! no!!

the block off eliminates the exhaust from entering the intake ( there are different versions of where they block the flow some block it upstream and use the plate to cover the potential intake leak and some use a plug that mimicks a weled shut EGR valve )
even a welded valve would do this complete block .. however a stock valve can be forced or stuck open allowing exhaust directly into the intake charge all the time

well ? getting hot spent exhaust out of the intake flow has no downside in my book

even if it is a coloring book

lol

I am going to run a delete with mimick valve and sct with matts program to block the cel

I will pass emisions because of no codes and these really don't blow dirty either way

I guess I just never thought anyone would even think about leaving the cooler in place and try to delete the valve. Thanks for the explainination.

Yeah, leave it in the manifold and leave it plugged in.

CAMPINGTOM, thanks for the referral for John, my truck is at his house now getting torn down.
You're welcome. He is a great guy. I'm always happy to help get another Powerstroke back on the road.
