76 highboy freshen up

i just finished my latest improvement, REAL power steering. i went with the entire setup from a 78 f250. box, pitman arm, drag link and steering shaft. i got the whole setup plus a passenger side door for $180. just had to drive to the middle of nowhere to get it, from some "interesting" people i might add.
from looking at the scrap metal i had lying around i had planned to box
the frame with some square tube that was the perfect size to nest in the frame rail. it looked like it would work great.....until i clamped the box in place and tried to rotate the pitman arm forward, it hit the leaf spring. the box was too far inboard. after cursing many times having another beer and staring at it for half an hour i decided i would have to cut it off and start again.....all of it.
so the second atempt looked a lot more like the other swaps i have seen, a simple plate to box the frame. evrything turened out good in the end. steering is tight, it drives straight and its sooo nice to have. after all the rework, the fab job doesnt look too pretty anymore, but im confodent in its strength.
this was right before i figured out it wouldnt work
after it didnt fit i was too mad to take anymore pictures, until the end. the final one is in the last pre fit, when it finally worked out

It's an original owner 89 cummins, 300,000km with a jake brake and brand new injector pump. I'm getting it from my friends grandmother for $1000. Only thing is I have to bring it back from across the country, which isnt too bad because I'm going there to help my friend move anyway, then im gonna pick it up and drive it back. should be an adventure to say the least
