04 Expd A/C blows hot in front, rear ice cold

Just replaced rear blend actuator after hearing banging sound from rear quarter area when switching from floor to overhead A/C. At the same time front was blowing warm air. Air moves from floor to console to defrost and gets hotter when temp dial turned up...so...is it my front blend acutator? How likely that they both fail within two weeks of one another? Dealer says it's $800 to replace since they need to pull the dash. I can see the blend actuator (up and to the left of the glovebox). Very tight spot indeed but is there another way to replace? Can I remove the radio or something else? Perhaps it's not the blend acuator at all ...any other ideas?

It could be the blend door itself. There's an issue with the door's hinges breaking and the door then fails to move all the way over. There are many post on here for the blend door.

Typically it is blend door actuators in the rear and the blend door itself in the front as alloro pointed out. There are some threads here that talk about your options. The real deal fix involves taking the dash board out. There is also an aftermarket kit that goes in through the glove box opening with a steel blend door.
