Yea, my old 88' (from PA) rusted off its mounts. I got my current Bronco from New Mexico. I was still able to remove the rear spring bolts with a wrench. That same job required a arc-air torch on the 88'. If you dont know what a arc-air is, believe me, you dont want to know. LOL

I have looked at them in 4 states, so it can't be just WV. I've been to Jersey, Ohio, PA, and of course WV.

Now I am not saying that every truck I've looked at has every symptom I've noted, but the vast majority of them have shared a lot of them.
You need to go the other direction, towards Maryland. I have family on Maryland's Eastern Shore and always see lots of Ford sheet-metal in good condition when I'm down there. Last Christmas I saw several Broncos that were either in junkyards or that looked like they hadn't been driven in a while that showed no signs of rust.

I was going to take next week off and go down south and do some looking, but we have a couple of guys off next week so I can't. So right now I'm looking at taking off the week after next. I'm going to have mom watch one of the kids (Black Lab) and my aunt watch the other. Load up the car and go on a road trip.

One guy in FL said he has a 96 with no rust on the body or frame, we'll see. Just have to see if they are still available when I get ready to go. If I'm lucky I'll find a couple more to look at during my road trip.

I know how you feel. Two years ago when I was in the market for a Bronco I looked at several rust buckets up here in Maine. Then I found mine on autotrader.com.It came from Hawaii. A guy in the Navy had it over there and had it shipped back when he retired and came back to the states.I traveled 3 hours to get it but it was well worth it for $3.5k
It was bone stock when I got it but has had a few mod since. Now I probably have too much $$ in it but it's all good.

See, that's what I'm hoping to find. A solid stock 96 Bronco. I would easily go 3 hr to go get one in that good shape. That's a nice truck at nice price, good score for you.

Be patient, you'll find a good solid rig. You're quite a bit further south than me so there should be more rust free ones near you. It's just a matter of time before you find the right one.

Thanks It is a Reflexxions steel cowl induction hood.I got it online from a place called Godfathers Customs.I had to pay $150 for frieght shipping to a local business. Hopefully you can find one closer to avoid freight shipping.
It has a 4" Dick Cepek stage2 suspension lift w/ 33x12.5x15 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires and 15x10 Mickey Thompson Sidebiter wheels.

Being from the kanawha Valley I know Broncos in WV are rust buckets. Mine was pretty nice then I moved to VA and left it back in WV sitting made the rust come out. Now I am trying to restor it for my daughter. I find rust free Broncos all the time over in Hampton Roads and most are $4000 or less but she wants "My Bronco."
