Monitor aspect ratio

Trying to load photos into the built in 2010 Navigator in dash monitor. The manual only says the files can be no bigger than 1.5MB. Does anyone know the aspect ratio or max pixel size to maximize the images on the screen?

Thanks for any help. I tried searches but could not find any information

Right click on one of your photos and the size will show.

First one I grabbed was one taken with my 12-or so MP camera. 4000x3000 resolution showed 2.24MB. Same photo reduced to 800x600 is 405KB.

Standard ratio is 4:3, the old VGA 640x480.

Monitor aspect ratio

Thanks Chuck

As you must know the Navigation unit can display jpg's but they don't tell you the dimension of the split screen. When displaying jpgs the screen splits and the max size of the photos by pixels horizontal or vertical is unknown---but the available size is not very large---Its landscape I know that---and I measured the available size as 1.5in tall and about 2 5/8in wide----but that is only approximate.

I loaded jps that were cropped at a 4x6 aspect ratio with many more pixels than the thing can display---the landscape photos fill the area vertically but not quite horizontal. If we know the aspect ratio I could recrop to that and the available area will fill on the monitor. As you know when you crop you need to crop at the aspect ratio of the display device if you want the photo to fill the display.

So are you saying you know the aspect ratio of the Lincoln monitor to be 4:3? So if I recropped to that ratio they would fit perfect???

Tim --

No magic insight into the Nav system. Standard computer "photos" are 4:3 and for that size screen 640x480 is a probable size. You're probably going to have to experiment with a couple of sizes but 640x480 is a good starting point. It may be lower.

My on top of the dashboard GPS unit has a 640x480 display and can display photos too. This has a 6" screen.
