1995-99 Plymouth Neon, beware of blown head gaskets and bad vehicle speed sensors.

The horror, the horror that is the mopar 2.0

I have a friend that has a 97 neon and like clockwork every 40,000 miles the head gasket blows no matter what they try to do to fix it.

At my local circle track in the 4 banger class the probes just kill everything. Except one guy who has a dodge shadow, he has troubles keeping it going but when it works man that thing is untouchable. It use to be the civics ruled, guess the Ford guys got sick of it.

I ran a 1998 Neon in five races on a paved 1/4 mile. Won three races, got a 3rd, and a 10th. Then got put into the front stretch wall by a lapped car. Those little cars are the biggest piles of crap, but man they move on the banked oval.

They handle exceptionally well too, even in stock form.

Usually a thread like this has some oddball car from the 50's, not a new-ish neon.
