i found a 1990 ford f250 today i will need a bed no problem but my question is
it is a diesel it sounds ok but he said the trans is pumping out trans fluid out of the bottom of the bell housing he thinks it a seal behind the torx converter i no nothing about diesel engines or trans so here is some info on the truck and the trans is a overdrive napa sayed theres 5 different trans for that model

it is a 1990 ford f250 automatic trans 4x4 extended cab
now if the trans is bad what trans does it take so to find one if i can before i buy this truck it is a project truck after all

 

forgot to say the engine is a 7.3

 

there was only one overdrive automatic trans offered for the diesel in 1990 i believe it was the E4OD.
if you are going to swap the trans, make sure you get one for a diesel.
no matter what anyone else says, a trans from a gas engine WILL NOT bolt up to the diesel
