Im looking at buying a ford truck it runs but they say it has a stuck valve? is this comon for flats?
or is this flat on it last leg
any help with this would be great

A stuck valve isn't very much. What's the oil pressure like? Do a compression check and get the real story. Sometimes you can just whack the valve down with a screwdriver thru the spark plug hole and free it up. But it could have a broken spring, which is still no biggie.....

 

a stuck valve should be no big deal. i would check it out for yourself. never assume.

 

a stuck valve is not that bad, when I got my flattie it sat out side for better part of a year. it was on it,s side and watter got in the exaust man. I had a lot of stuck valves in it I just took out the spark plugs,lots of tranny oiland a lot of taps with a wooden dowel freed them up.it purrs now.It's a good way to get to know your motor
