any knowing problems with 2006 f150 xlt?

I realized the 2004 – 2005 f150 has a common engine problem (knocking noise). Any body knows of any problems with the 2006 model that need immediate attention at 88k miles.

There are no issues that are standard across the board to be on the look out for.If you are about to buy this vehicle maybe request all fluids be replace. Transfer case, axles, coolant, transmission, and filters to go with. Otherwise should be a nice truck for you.

The 5.4L engines still had the plug removal problem. They all had that until Dec 07 when the revised cylinder head went into service. Power window switches are junk. I've had to replace the driver side master switch and now the passenger side front needs replaced (06 with 46,000 miles). If it's a 4x4 the front IWE solenoids can be a problem as can the transfer case shift motor on the ESOF models if 4 wheel drive isn't engage fairly regularly. All in all, not a bad truck so far. It's just not as trouble free as the 95 and 92 that I've had in the past.

The plugs sure are an issue but with Snap_on having the removal tool for like $90 or something fairly inexpensive then the plugs come out pretty easily. The window switches are less the $50 a switch and are easy to pull out and replace maybe 10-20 minutes for someone who has any handy skills. Neither of these are anything like the cost of the cam Phasers in the 04-05's. The IWE solenoids and the transfer case this is the first I have heard of those issues.

Still like Greg said they are a nice truck.

I think i've decided I enjoy my cam phaser noise in my 04. It makes the truck sound like a diesel, but without all the extra expense of a diesel. Plus it makes the truck sound unique. I'm just going to leave mine knock until I get a check engine light, or decide I wanna spend some $$$.
