Transmisison Main Line pressure question

Ok, I'm about to buy an 02 F250 from a buddy of mine and have question about the transmission Main line pressure.

The Truck is in great shape and I've not drove such a machine before. He has the truck set to 'tow' mode with the edge evolution programmer.

My question is that it seems to shift a little harder than I think it should (then again I've not drove any trucks like this before) where he says he's had a few and they do shift snappy where he and his transmission neighbor believes there is nothing wrong with it.

Anyway I'm wondering if someone can tell me what Tranny Main line pressure is a good PSI?

I'm doing all this reseach on tuners and chips etc, and dont know that I want all that stuff in a truck but the way it's set now its crazy powerful with the increased 60 horse from the tow program. But again I havent drove it stock which I plan to do and then check the PSI and feel the shifts on it.

Depends on the tuning and the mods to the tranny, but peak line pressure can be in the 450-500 range. Most times its in the 300 or so...

Get some gauges before continuing to run a programer.

No, I don't think so.

Most of the time line pressure is about 65-150 PSI. The highest line pressure that a stock transmission with stock tuning can do is 330 PSI, and only in reverse.

That's why I said stock. I don't know what modified transmissions will do because I don't know what modifications have been done to it.

YouTube - Drive pressure gauge

Quick video... on the way to the hotel. OD locked out, then shifted into 2nd, then back to 3rd and into OD, then back into second...

Down hill, other then the one blip of the throttle it was all just coasting.
