Gotta love dealers
The Wife took the new truck back for a oil change, while she was there had them look at the brake controller wire, service manager called me and I explained to him what was going on, he said "never heard of that, I'll have to go look at some other trucks on the lot. 3 hrs. and one ticked off wife later he calls me back and says "looks like your missing a wire, to your controller", "theres a factory rep here and we both agree there should be a wire there, then turns around to say "you might not be able to put a aftermarket controller in this truck, the last time we just ran a wire we disabled the truck. Okay what is it, you've never seen this or the last time you screwed the guys truck up? Then I asked why is it wired completely except 1 wire for the controller and why is there a harness in the glove box that I can't use? He said they "all come with them" and said the factory controller must have some sort of internal relay where it doesn't need the wire" Politely told him I don't know who you're trying to BS and that I have several Ford trucks and a member of a large Ford truck club and have already researched this problem. Then he said I have a call into Ford Technical and I'm waiting to hear back, that was wed. they must be communicating by carrier pigeon because I haven't heard from them yet. I predict a complaint with the State dept of Dealer Licensing in the future, unbelievable how much gets done when they get involved.

After pressing them, they say they have a fix, just have to schedule a appt. On another note, just got back from Illinois on vacation, I towed my little pop up out there with it, ....what a guttless turd. I'm glad I live on flat land or I'd be getting rid of it. I usually get 21-22 mpg, Got 18 on the trip. the 4.6 is definitely a flatland motor.
