2005 explorer sport trac starting issues

I have a 2005 sport trac with remote start I can start the truck with the remote starter, but starting it with the key only works some of the time? does anyone have any ideas of what the problem is.

If you have a spare key hidden away, try swapping it for your "every day" key, and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away, I would have to guess that your original key was damaged in some way that was intermittently triggering the SecuriLock passive anti-theft system.

If that is not the problem, it may be a problem with the ignition cylinder itself.

We can't stop them, but use the Report Post feature (upper right of the post) and enter "Wrong forum".

I think some of these get filed here simply because it is the first forum on the list.

Looks like "MOVED" posts should be noted as such. I didn't know this was moved until I read posts like this and searched for the original post.
