I would like me an ecoboost 5.0........guess i'll have to wait till the full redesign in 2013-2014......it shouldn't be terribly long till we start hearing rumblings and seeing wickedly wrapped prototypes hitting the street....

i just saw this on MT... this is awesome!!! some people are questioning though why these engines offer close to the exact same power.... im questioning as to why people are complaining when Ford is coming out with multiple engines near the 400hp range!!!

I'd bet the 5.0 will be tuned to have less than 400 hp to get better mileage and fit in the middle engine territory.

That article says th N/A 3.7 V6, the Coyote 5.0, & the Ecoboost 3.5 but if you click on the Ecoboost blue letters that article says also the 6.2 along with the Ecoboost in the higher end models. Or did I just miss something? I hope both the 6.2 & Ecoboost are offered, haven't decided which one I want, also depends on the Ecoboost numbers.

I'll be willing to look at a 6.2L in an XLT package or I'll hold out for the 4.4L diesel. I'm undecided as of now. I'm not looking for real high hp numbers, but I do need and want high low end tq numbers and mid to high 300 hp numbers for what I use my truck for.

You'll probably have a better chance at a 6.2 than the diesel! I'm not holding my breath on the diesel in any half ton for now.

Now that engines have been announced, I want to know what gearing will be available with each and for which applications. I'd love to see Ford offer the rear lockers like they do in the superduty.

I'm not holding my breath on the 6.2L in an XLT either.

Well i just orderd a 11 5.0 stang. I havent received it yet though. Still being built. First new vehicle i have ever bought. For that matter first vehicle less than 75k i have bought.

But I told my dealer to tell me when ford offers the 6.2l in the F-150. I would come in and build another one from scratch for him to sell me.

My 99 is tired and needs to be retired from full time to part time. But not untill ford puts the 6.2l in will that happen. .

Cant wait

This is awesome news for me, currently I have an '04 F150 Heritage XL Shortbox Supercab 2WD 4.2L V6. It's one of the best "new" F150's around for mileage and power. But these new V6's, both the Ecoboost and the 3.7 will be even better at the pump! Ford really is evolving to keep up with the times, and as a blue collar consumer I appreciate that. Turbocharged V8 power in a V6 with super mileage? Who'd have thought big oil would ever let that happen... Can't wait 'till they're unveiled.

Congrats! It's going to be a blast

Nice link, OP. It's going to be interesting to see the final output numbers.
