Temp. sending unit E40D

Can an Autometer temp. sender be screwed right into the test port on the drivers side of the E4OD with out blocking anything inside the trans. since it's longer than the plug that came out?

It should, many have done just that. If your concerned check depth with a tool (screw driver, paper clip, ect.) first. IIRC it's just an open port with no obstructions.
