Vibration at 40 and hum at 65

I have a 2002 F-350 SRW 7.3L CC LB. I have a slight Vibration at about 40 MPH and then when I get up to 65 I get a hum sound kind of like mud tires. I have pathfinder tires. Not sure if this is normal or not.

With the vibrations around that speed, have you checked for wheel bearings? Jack the vehicle up and try to wiggle the tire, see if theres any play. Also possibly, a brake caliper hanging up, see if the wheels spin freely. Just 2 drops in a bucket, but may get you started narrowing down the issue.

Check the tires first. They could have gotten unbalance. +3 on the wheels bearings.

Ok I jacked up the front of the truck and the driver side had a slight bit of movement in it, none in the passenger side. Both wheels feel like they have a brake pad hanging up a little. If you give it a spin it will go a little bit and then come to a stop. Is there any adjustment in the bearing, or is it just a replace it thing. Also with the passenger side not spinning real free does it just need greased maybe or replaced also. If I take this apart what parts will I need to get to put it back together.

Your wheel bearings are "non serviceable". That means you will have to change the wheel hub assembly. You can find them for around $350 each.

Helpful hint - Don't try to reuse the four studs that hold the hub on. Buy new ones.

The brake dragging may be related to the play in the bearing.

You will get what you pay for. The OEM ones will last another 100K.

Would it be a good idea to replace both of them at the same time?

I have one that is starting to hum. I am going to change both of them. I don't think you have to. It won't hurt anything.

I don't know. Check with the local dealership. There may be more than one OEM.

Okay, I got the two Wheel bearing hubs assemblies ordered. I have manual hubs. Is there anything else I should replace while I have it apart or anything I will need to have. I plan to pick up the new studs that hold on the wheel bearings.
