Made me laugh

Yesterday my truck broke down in a not so great area of town. My upper radiator hose let go at the clamp.

While I was cutting off that portion of hose, a truck pulls up next to me. The guy looked to be about twenty. He was white, had a ghetto hat on sideways, old english gang signs on his arms and neck, and driving a rather ragged ford truck. His girl was beside him and another guy by the passengers door.

The guy asked if I needed help and said he liked my truck. I thanked him and said I had it covered. He then asks if my 83 truck is a 95 model. I said no and told him the year. He could not believe it was that old. He then asks me to guess what year his truck is. I told him I was not real familiar with his generation truck, but that it looked to be a 90 or 91. He tells me it is an 82. I then tell him why it can not be that old and that it is the body style after my truck, so it has to be sometime from 87 on. He looked at me kinda strange and had his friend pull the registration out to see what year his truck was. I did my best not to bust out laughing.

It was an 88 model. The guy was nice enough. I just can not believe people drive autos and do not know what year they are.

I got my truck back together but the cashier would not let me use the hose to fill my radiator up. She said that we could buy bottles of water though. I kinda stood out in this neighborhood. A guy I work with and have done work for at his house lives about two blocks away, so I drove over to his house to use his garden hose.

I thought the same thing. I wondered if he was casing my truck and figured he could not get very far without any water in the radiator.
