We have a '72 sitting out back. I realize that I am too far away for you in NE, but you have me curious. What is the flex-o-matic you are talking about? I want to see if ours has it.
Hello ford six,
I have around 8 pairs of them that i have cut from pickups i have parted out, what i did is torched the frame and saved the spring hangers as well is the springs all as a complete unit. ( was easier that way for me ) i am in central calif - Los Banos. if you want to pay shipping i will give you a pair i am cleaning up my yard and for some reason i didnt chuck the springs, at least not the 67 to 72 stuff. if you want some pics let me know. Jess

Flex-O-Matic is this big goofy looking variable shackle. When lightly loaded, the spring is at full length, and has a bit softer of a rate. When loaded down, the shackle contacts the spring about 6" further forward, making it stiffer.
I recently changed computers, so I don't have access to the pic I took years back, but I'll try and get one here before too long.
