It is way to hard to tell from 4 small pictures and most of us know we wont get what we put back into a truck if we sell it but is that going to stop you from asking for what you have invested in it? I don't think anyone here is going to put 15-20k into a truck and then put it up for sale for 10k just because we know we will never get it out of the truck and I'm sure thats what this guy is doing. I'm sure he is asking for what he has in it to see if anyone bites and if not 'm sure he will go a little lower. Right now I have 12k in my 55 and its no where near the condition of his truck. There are alot of people who will pay the higher price just so they dont have to do the work because either they cant or just dont want to.

Have $27,629.14 in the 1ST-RIDE and I am almost finished . That amount is for parts, chrome & paint . Labor amount is unlimited even if one gauged it upon " cooley wages " . Have all the receipts , some from the late "70's . How about a 3 angle valve job on a set of 428 heads for $28.00 ? Those were the days !!!!

I paid 12k for my truck in almost stock trim but, after driving the truck for a few months it need some work. Like finishing the interiour, then the wiring, engine, well you all know the story. After all the changes and hard work I ended up spending another 30k in just parts. Did most all of the labor myself and I really like the results but in the end what the next guys willing to pay for it is anyones guess, that is if it were for sale. I saw a 51 F1 nicely restored go across the auction block at Barret Jacksons a year ago go for more than 70k. Nice truck but 70k??? I can only hope these trends continue.

Is the 56 model more common than a 60 model
I was reviewing the asking prices for a 56 model online and found a lot of comparable trucks selling for much less in the same condition. The only one I located that was selling in this price range was one that had won a bunch of car shows and was covered in some trade magazines.
Check it out for yourself.
ClassicTruckCentral.com | Classic Trucks For Sale | 1956 Ford Trucks For Sale
The reason I was asking if the 56 Model was more common than the 60 modle is because, I see so many 56's offered for sale and so few 60's. Maybe I am looking at this wrong. Someone please educate me!

so, the question is, what are u trying to determine from all this?
the value of your 60? I think today it will be less than a 56, and maybe less than a 53-55.. at similar quality level. Seems the attention has been around the 56, and 53-55 for the last forever...
haven't really seen that change at all in the 10 yrs I've been on this site..
I think the truck u referenced is listed too high, unless its a period perfect restore..but with new components, it doesn't go far enough to set it apart..

Preference is a matter of Preference
sdetweil . I started this post because I thought the asking price seemed too high. I thought I missing some rarity, or something special that justified the price so I came here to ask the experts.
As for your question: "so, the question is, what are u trying to determine from all this?"
Nope, not the question at all. My truck is priceless! LOL
"Is the 56 model more common than a 60 model?" I only asked because I saw so many being offered for sale compared to other models. I was curious if this is because so many people like this model that it has become a "Me-Too" truck, or because they were more available.
Me-Too meaning the style is so cool that everyone goes I want one. Me Too!

Yes, I would say its a 'me too' body style.
those that are adventurous (road less traveled) do the 48-52, and the 57 up..
48-52 seems to be gaining in popularity lately (last 5 yrs) as the number of folks joining with those models have significantly increased.
last couple of years, I've seen more 60-62 than ever before.. but still small group in comparisons..
and I've got over 60k in mine (not counting personal labor over 10 yrs), and it would be hard to replace for that given some of the incredible labor deals I got along the way. paint and interior are almost 1/2 the total expense. I don't know if anyone would pay what I have in it, or if its worth more or less.. course I think mine is better than the one you referenced.. but.. its way over on the darkside..
but on the list of coveted vehicles, mine is not the vaunted 56.. so its a loser on the coolness scale from that perspective.
Lance's Dad's truck is the first pre-56 I've seen win major awards for a LONG time. but it took them near 20 yrs of constant redo if I heard Lance correctly.
I'm just 10 yrs in..

Nice to meet you Sam, My names Joe. I checked out your garage and your truck is nicer than this one. I loved the Row Bar inside the Cab. Is that custom made or a bolt in?
When I bought my truck, the amount I paid was 1/3 the amount the p/o invested in it. I know I'll never get out of the truck what I put into it, but what gives me peace of mind and keeps me putting money in my truck is comparing the value of a fiananced truck after it is paid for and the value of a custom truck when its completed.
Just about anything you drive costs money and depreciates the value. However, a classic truck's value will increase with time as long as the truck is maintained.
So I may not get what I put into it, but mine will have value longer that what is being sold today!

mine started out as a $1000 pile of parts.. (see my gallery first pic).. my wife said "you 'PAID' for that? get it out of the driveway, quick".
did you mean Roll Bar? it was purely decorative.. tack welded to the floor on the back, not secured at all on the front pipes.. and custom made from what I can tell.. lot of body putty fell off when I took it out last week.
gotta get some different seats.. these were bolted to the floor with no adjustment ability.. and on my F150 square back seats (extra supply) the back is just too thick, almost 10 inches..
So I may not get what I put into it, but mine will have value longer than what is being sold today!

Sam - You caught my misspelling. LOL . I did mean Roll Bar. I figured it was decrotive. It takes a lot of pressure to crush one of them cabs anyway.
I have to take my seat out soon too. One of the springs come lose and I now sit in a low rider position. Hopefully, I can weld it back together.
As for the wife, she hates my truck because when I purchased it, her car moved from the garage to the street and she knows the truck will never be parked on the street.
