Caught a three nice 15-20 pound Halibut last week. Just had to look at Costco and see what price was for fillets it was 13.99 a pound! So just put $600 worth of fish in the freezer makes all the gas and boat payments worth while so how is fishing elsewhere?

Took the boat out of Whittier over the 4th. I caught one red salmon and a nice 30-pound halibut. The wife caught a 141-pounder. And we pulled in about 6 gallons of shrimp. All-in-all, not a bad weekend.

Well, most would recommend a 22-footer or better. But the wife and I spend long weekends out there on our 17-foot Arima. It's pretty small, but it's seaworthy. It's a hardtop equipped with a 14 gallon fresh water tank, a small grill, a gimbal stove, and a berth to sleep in. And we don't mind having to bump elbows once in a while.
Limited out on Coho on Sunday could barely get the cooler shut think we are good to go for the winter now...maybe one more big weekend. Need to get about 50 pinks to smoke still though.
Will go out this coming sunday and drift for silvers.
Need about 30 or so.
Ended up needing more than we thought with moms cancer changing what she can eat.
