Bought a Ford factory canopy, it was missing the front slider, picked one up from a 1979 F150. I was told it would fit the canopy and I should flip it around to install so the latch could be opened up from inside the truck is this correct? It will fit the canopy same gasket and all?

All canopies I have seen the front glass are non-sliders

 

Yes, I had a Deluxe canopy on my '77, and the slider was identical to the one on the truck. I also had a blow-up donut, that went around the windows so you could have an airtight pass-thru. Didn't use the donut on a regular basis, because it would wear the paint of the cab as the truck flexed.

Same slider! My slider is setup to open from inside the canopy, someday I will switch it so I can open it from inside the cab!
