2 stroke oil and egr valve condition
In case anyone was wondering about 2 stroke oil causing deposits on the egr valve: I have been running 1/2 quart of TC-W3 per tank for about a year now and decided to pull the egr valve for inspection today. The result was a clean egr valve. I wiped the soot off with a paper towel and it was shiny clean. I was concerned it might foul the valve but it seems that's not the case.

heheh. man Im so gonna get flamed on this one. As we all know Im a ford tech and sometimes like to play and see what happens when/if. I dont condone the practice and remember play and pay. now with all that said.....
what type of atf.... the type that burns. merc3,merc4,merc5,sp,lv. NEVER, NEVER, EVER,NEVER from a blowen up unit (reread the never, ever part). I burn the stuff out of the flush machine only after I filter it through a few magnets and a 4 micro filter about four times.
So far im up to about 30-40% mix. I would not advise if tring to do this that someone goes beyond 50/50. I would also not really do this to much in cold weather.
so far as benefits NONE except used atf is free and it burns. so figure Im using 10-15 gallons of it at a time. so I save $40-50/week on fuel bills.
the down side is man the stuff kinda sticks but im not ever the one stuck behind my tail pipe.

no no more power. even though im set up to run a tune i run stock 99% of the time. Im not one to beat on my ride persay.
so there is no added power what so ever.
so far as fuel economey will I have not really seen a change. I dont pull a trailer at all so I cant comment on that.
But if you take in to account "free" fuel then economy is going to be somewere around 45-50mpg of real #2 diesel useage. but over all im still between 17-20 as I have always been.
I dont know that I would do this running a egr cooler and having the stuff pass back through the intake. I see that as it may have a bad outcome.
I also have no cat ot worry about either.
