Transmission question

I just got back from a 2000 mile trip in my '83 diesel Ranger. The last 1400 miles with no reverse gear.

Turns out the shaft nut had worked its way off, and the reverse gear was just spinning. Since the nut and locking washer are damaged now from bouncing around on the shaft for 1400 miles, I'm looking for parts, which are hard to come by for an E37B-7003-ADB 4 speed manual transmission.

Anyone out there know if the E37B-7003-ADB (part number on the transmission) and the ToyoKogo TK4 are the same beast? Or if the same transmission was used in other vehicles - like the Bronco II or the Aerostar vans in '83 to '85 or so?

Thanks!

I cant answer but any reputable transmission repair facility should be able to. We had a question on a trans in a friends bronco, was sent to a trans parts shop and he was able to tell what the issue was with the part and knew a lot about the trans. So that is about the best thing to do.

Thanks for the suggestions, Hank. I have been to a local transmission shop, and they will be happy to rebuild my trans for $1200.

Not wanting to spend $1200, and being in the position of seeing this as a challenge (two other modes of transportation), I'm digging into it myself. This is my first transmission, and it may be my last, but here goes. So many springs and ball bearings!
