Searching for truck with options

I am trying to find an F150 with certain options, but I cannot find one like I am looking for, is there a database to search for particular options without goin through looking at every ford dealer's inventory and finding something close and then when I look at the window sticker it is not exactly what I want, also has anyone got any pictures of the chrome clad 20" wheels on a 4x4 with larger tires installed, thanks

If you build one on the Ford site you can search for ones similar to what you built. Or just email dealers in your area.

This is the best hope you have of getting your truck with what you want.

YOU DON'T WANT CHROME CLAD WHEELS! My wife's 07 edge has the chrome clad wheels and they are simple a plastic cover glued to the unpolished mag rim. Just look at a curb cross wise and they get scuffed to hell!

I guess it depends on the vehicle, but I've got chrome clads on my 07 F150 and the wifes 08 Exploder and they've held up just fine. Granted the one's on my truck aren't the plastic clad type but the wife's are.

Price and build used to work well at screening a search to similar vehicles. It now will list any/all of the model you are interested in. Namely, you have to search the dealers entire F150 inventory to see what matches and what doesn't.

I have been using the search dealers inventory function on fordvehicles in effort to find my next truck. Ya, it's a bit of a hassle, but you can filter out some of the features. Just make sure you have a list of zip codes that are within your state to make it so you can widen your search. If you live near another states border, you'll need to start up a new search using a zip code from the other state. Ford's search function limits you to a single state. Stupid, but hey, what do you want for nothing....

What the heck are you looking for?

I was looking for a Lariat, supercrew, 4x4, candy red metallic, black leather capt. seat, chrome package, with or without nav. I want the lariat because of the cooled seats, and the black leather because of stains, and the chrome package because I do not like painted bumpers, I had no idea the wheels were plastic I saw one with the chrome wheels and really liked the look of them the best but if they are plastic then I will not get them, I used the dealer connection to find it but I have to go through each and every dealers inventory and look at each window sticker to see if it has my options I was looking for and it just takes for ever, that really bothers me about the rims though I will have to take a better look at them on the ones I saw.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like a bunch of options that should be too hard to find.

The rims are still aluminum they just have a chromed plastic cover on them. Just like the chrome grill and mirror skull caps that will be part of the chrome package you want. Heck, unless you curb a wheel or use a sponge with sand in it clean the wheels, you really shouldn't have any issues. Just my 2 cents.

I understand the hassle of searching sticker by sticker. Your local dealer will try to find a truck in the system (either delivered to another dealer or to be delivered) that they might be able to snag for you. My dealer will find you any truck you want, but wont give you the same good deal on a swap as you would get from their inventory. Be sure to make the deal before doing the dealer swap. Plus, do you really want some go-fer picking up your new truck and putting miles on it? I don't.

Best of luck with your search.

My 2010 F150 has the chrome wheels and I like them. Aluminum goes to hell real quick, the painted wheels are real tough and look good forever

This is the reason why I am going to order my next truck. I figure this way I can get exactly what I want without having to search all over for it.

Had chrome (plastic) wheels on my Ram and they held up great. No rust, and in the south that's a plus. Ford's aren't as shiny though. Avalanche must be having NAV problems.....
