1994 F53 Cruise Servo Cable

How do you remove the throttle cable from the Cruise Servo, mine is in a tight spot on my F53 Chassis and I think there's an attaching screw I can't see. I'm having trouble with my cruise, replaced the control buttons to no avail, I think the servo is bad from none use. Any help would be greatly appreciated, any repair suggestions would also be appreciated.

I'm going by what passes for cruise control on my '82 E350. I'm not sure at all if this is what you have, but I'll try to help.

There is a cable that goes into the servo 'bell' that has a ball on the end. The ball goes into a clevis or cradle (think of your first two fingers pulling back on a bowstring). That's connected to the servo diaphragm. To get enough slack to disconnect the cable, you have to disconnect it at the throttle body.

When I fixed my cruise a few years ago, it was the cable itself that had busted. I used a replacement cable for 10 speed bike brakes that I got at a bike shop. It had the right 'ball' on the end of the cable.

Check to see if the cruise servo has good vacuum too (no hose cracks, diaphragm not busted). Good luck with it.
