Brakemotive pads and rotors
Has anyone installed these on their truck? I need to do my brakes on my 2004 SCREW 4x4 again. The first time I put on Wagner or Wearever ceramics and have been pleased so far, however my rotors are now out of specs. I was planning on doing the pads and rotors and found a bunch on Ebay. Pretty good prices for a complete set at $224.95 with free shipping. The rotors are drilled and the pads ceramic. Never had drilled rotors and have read reviews of less fade but also less stopping power due to less surface area. Thanks for any insight.

Properly drilled rotors don't crack.....if they did....you wouldn't have them on corvettes, ferarri's, 200mph sport bikes, and every other exotic high temp brake system out there......
Now that said....you take a regular rotor and drill a bunch of holes with out proper planning and execution..........then yes...you'll have cracks everywhere....

I absolutely guarantee you that at end of life, if you magnaflux them, you'll find stress cracks in those rotors.
The trade-off usually makes it worth it on high-performance cars that have (even OEM) very expensive rotors (usually cryro-treated) and are frequently maintained.
The trend is towards ceramic rotors in high-performance car$ because of their stability over a wider range of temperatures.
For our purposes and budget, the trend is towards slotted.
Not saying they will fail or won't last, just saying they will crack.
A 500 mile Baja race usually cracks all the rotors on the Trophy Truck.
Oh, and I'll be happy to show you the stress cracks on the rotors off my 2006 Triumph Sprint ST. They didn't fail, but they did crack.
