Cracked my headlight switch trim piece

Need forum geniuses on this one. I'm hoping I can still buy this part direct from the Ford dealer...

I had my driver's seat forward and when I hoped out of the vehicle I hit my knee on the trim piece, heard something break off (the screw popped out of the threads) and saw that the rear defog switch was wiggling in its spot...

Here are the results:

This is a hairline crack to the upper right of the defog switch.

This is where the crack follows up past the bottom side of the headlight switch.

This is where the crack follows through to the back side, splitting the defog switch mount.

Self-explainable.

More self-explainable.

Looks like I'll need a new one of these.

This one isn't salvageable as far as I can tell. Can I buy a NOS part from Ford?

Ed - our wonderful parts sponsor - can you find me one for a decent price? Part number: F65B-15044D-70

I think this is called the "cluster trim"

Help!!!

You might try looking at a junk yard for one.

I'd try a quality epoxy and just don't do it again.

Send him a PM, or click his yellow link box at the top right of the page. I doubt he trolls the boards looking for questions like this.

Good thinking. I sent him a PM not too long ago.

By the way, thanks for the reps on my IAC writeup. I appreciate it.

You're welcome, it was a great write-up. BTW, I don't rep that often because most people are here asking questions, not giving answers. So you're now in the super duper exclusive "Reps from Alloro" club.

Sweet. Can I get a t-shirt?

I know! I'll throw that in my signature later this evening: Official Member of "Reps from Alloro Club"

I wonder if the OP would be interested in buying one in Willow Green, then painting it to match?

F75Z78044D70AAE, it's also obsolete, but two dealers have one each.

Well...possibly. Maybe with some of that Krylon paint it would turn out OK? I'm not too keen on painting plastics but if its possible to get a strong finish that won't crack and peel off.

If you wouldn't mind PMing me details and a price I'd appreciate it. I'll be out of town for the weekend but I will be able to reply by Sunday evening.

Thanks for the info!

Naw, bring it to an auto body shop, they have all of the right stuff for painting automotive plastics the right way, like bumpers for example.
