Recently the head gaskets were replaced in Oregon - I live in Michigan. On the way home I smelled exhaust fumes. Checked it out at my local Ford dealer. They say the exhaust pipe is cracked and is leaking exhaust - could have happened replacing the gaskets. They say it is a fragile pipe. $600 to replace. From where the mechanic was looking it is a difficult place to get at. Is this an expensive pipe? How do you replace? Any comments?
