2001 Supercrew 4.6 2wd. Isn't a problem yet but would like to fix it before it becomes one. When I go to start it after it sits for a while(ie over night, after I get off work) it cranks over for a while before it starts. Longer than it should. When I get in it after running an errand, something quick it fires right up

 

I have a friend who's BMW does the same thing. It is because fuel is draining back into the tank. There is supposed to be some kind of one way valve in the line that prevents the fuel from running back into the tank for quick startups. What you could try is turn the key to on wait a few seconds, then turn it off and do that again. Do it a few times then try starting it, if it fires right up then that is the problem.

I am unsure how these trucks keep the fuel in the lines, someone else will have to chime in on that. But at least I can help you figure out if that is the problem.
