AC leak, hole rubbed in hose

The screws from my radiator reservoir rubbed holes in my AC hose. I need to replace this hose. Does anyone know a part number for this and if it is a big job?

Thanks Bob, I posted on that forum, hopefully some one has replaced this before. Otherwise I will just go in for it, remove the old, put in the new, and hope it all works well after a charge.

From the little I've learned here, it's important to vacum the system down after opening it. Might be a good idea to do that ! Check the board after supper, somebody will hit you back. It's slow during the day some days.

I cant open the link, but from the pic that appears to be going to your evaporator.
I havent replaced the evaporator, but can walk you through recharging your system if you do decide to replace it on your own.
Its not a terribly involved job.
I do recommend that if you are going to replace it that you also replace your oriface tube and possibly your accumulator (big aluminum canister on passanger firewall) as it will improve the function of your system.

looks like the part you need, partsguyed has it for about the same price
link to hose and tube assy

I second the "change the dehydrator" advice they are about 75 bucks and they ac will work that muck better. If you have had the hole in the hose for any amount of time moisture has most certainty found it's way in to the system.

I am no expert though, you will defiantly get some good advice on the AC forum.

I'm another one thats never played with an AC unit only recharging once on my Moms car but somebody will help soon. Besides this event stinks on what happen to you it serves as a reminder to not only checking the obvious things under the hood, aways check to make sure hoses, wires and such are wireloomed to make sure on no chaffing. I'm always looking for something that rubs.

here is a writeup I did on the compressor, acumulator, oriface tube replacement I did last year. It doesnt include the evaporator you are replacing, but should help with the rest:

That is a great write up, reps sent!

Unfortunately I did not get on here and read all this good info before I just went ahead and bought the tube and replaced it.

Fortunately it was very very easy to replace (took about 15 min). Vacuum pumped and charged the system and have had ice cold A/C for about a week now.

Thanks for all your help!
