So how is the performance on this engine? Is there a noticeable difference vs. the 5.4? I would think there is. How is the shifting with the 6 speed tranny? What can I look to drive one off the lot at, price wise? Just looking for the XLT package and nothing else fancy. Most are priced around 42-43k in this area. Wondering how much you guys got off the sticker.

My 6.2 F250 is averaging about 19L/100km right now. Which translates into approximately 14mpg. Truck has less than 500km on it, so I'm hoping this improves as it loosens up.
By way of comparison, my 05 Jetta TDI averages 4.8L/100km which is about 58mpg. So the truck has been a bit of a shock! My wife's 02 Tahoe falls right in between.

I'm sitting at around 3500km now, and something bizarre has occurred.
I went to pick up a new toy. So on a three hour trip with an empty flat deck being towed, the truck averaged 18.4L/100km, which is exactly what I get without a trailer in my usual driving.
On the return trip, on the same road, with a car on the trailer, I averaged 15.6L/100km.
How is that possible?!
Oh, and because people like pics and modded cars:
The new toy is a 1993 VW Passat wagon with the VR6. Oh, and I just finished installing the turbo kit, new exhaust, Porsche wheels, new suspension, and some other stuff.
