Have a 1996 F super-duty that I need a wiring diagram for the "overdrive switch" on the shifter. Don't know which wire goes to which, any thoughts/leads would be appriciated.

Hi Nick, welcome to FTE. Sorry no one has responded yet but with the big weekend and all .. ya know. I did lots of honey - dos' but did get a chance to detail the truck out a bit.

Anyway you can use this online service manual link and it should answer your question.

1996 Bronco/F-Series Workshop Manual

Click on -> Transmission -> Automatic External Controls -> Electrical Schematics and scroll down a bit. Post back and let us know if you got it fixed or need additional help

 

Welcome Nick, the manual Jim posted above has a ton of info but it doesn't have everything you might need.
The Trans Control Switch (TCS) is the official name in case you need to order parts.

I looked at what you guys provided but it doesn't give the color codes, is there any onther options or thoughts on where to find this?

Color codes are in the above link I provided. For example ...

R/Y = Red with yellow stripe

W/LG = White with light green stripe

 

Ok, so that would be the 4th diagram for the F-series, correct?

 

On mine it's the third from the top, but I have the Heavy Duty. If one of your wires is pink with orange stripe then it's the forth as you indicated.

 

This is on a 1 ton, so it just might be the same as yours. I will check when I make a trip over to where it is. I really appriciate you guys giving me a hand. I'll be in touch.
