i'm not worried about mud. i hate mud. skid plates are for the rocks. i havent flatbedded my truck yet. its not important. i trust the jackstands. i tried everything i could to knock my truck off them, and they wouldnt budge.
Glad to see some forward progress, that weld doesn't look too bad either! I ordered a 4 inch lift for my 95, will hopefully have that done next weekend.
I warped a few of the threads on the inserts. Welded em too hot. Now I gotta try to track down someone with the correct size tap, or thread chasers, to clean them out.
Well if ya live anywhere near Beatrice I would loan ya my tap set.
I posted on a local forum, and i'm hoping that someone has a 1.25" 12tpi right and left hand tap that I can borrow. They're are quite a few machinists and wheelers in the area.
Lol I don't expect much of anything at work, althought the last couple nights I have been pretty busy. Fueling jets is kinda fun when its over 60 degrees outside, but it sucks when there is a -25 degree windchill.. ask how I know.. lol.
Called over 20 machine shops, and none of them had the tooling on hand to re-thread my warped tubing inserts. One was willing to order the taps, and do it for me... but they were gonna charge me $120 to retap 3 of my inserts. Soooooo... I just bit the bullet, and ordered the taps from McMaster Carr. I'll going ahead and re-tap all 6 once they get here. And I'll have them on hand, for when I build my 4 link rear, and **** those up too.
Also ordered my coils from Poly Performance. 250/350 for the spring rates. Hopefully, that'll get me in the ballpark of what I want, at least good enough to where I can use Poly's exchange program to get them dialed in exactly where I want the truck to be.
