Decoding my VIN

My Vin is F10ACM09642, I just purchased this truck and was wondering if the VIN decoding could tell me anything more about the truck? What I know is it's a 1971 F100 with a 240ci Inline 6 and 3 speed on column. Can my VIN tell me which plant it is from?

OK I have done some research and found the the F10 = F100, A = 240ci motor, C = Ontario Canada Plant, but the "M" before the numbers is throwing me. Can it mean Manual trans? The info I got was from LMC's catalog.

Nope.
The last 6 digits of the VIN is the Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

F10ACM09642

F10 = F100 2WD

A = 240 1V I-6.

C = Oakville, Ontario Canada Assembly Plant

M09642 = 1971 / 1971 F100/750 serial number range: J70,001 thru M30,000.

The TRANS, AXLE and etc codes are listed on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

Thank you very much for the information. I will have a look at the warranty plate today to see what it tells me.

If you post the info here, I can decode ALL of it using the Ford truck parts catalog.

I've done this for over 700 FTE members, so there's no need to go elsewhere.
