July Chat Thread

Good Morning all! I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th... I know I did, spent the day carrying a big cooler of frosty brews up and down Newport, going from house to house making friends, lol...

Lol, you got that right Steve... For as many people, and as much alcohol thats involved down there, I didn't see a whole lot of big issues... The Newport PD was out in full force as well as the CHP.. So i think that kept everyone in check pretty much. It was a blast..
Edit: Post # 100!!!
and Official 4th of July brew, loaded coronas!!! Corona Extra thats been topped off with Bacardi Limon... Yum, but be careful, its sneaky...

I know KHJ, KFWB (980) & KRLA (1110) were the AM rock/Pop stations...before FM (as I knew it anyway) was happening.
I love the Fumoto quick-drain valve Got my oil and filter changed, took my Blackstone sample, went to the bank and got some stuff straightened out in the back yard.
All that's left for today is the Dentist...but that won't be as much fun as all that other stuff.

930 Khz (or as we said back then, "kilocycles") Amplitude Modulated rock-n-roll.
You have mentioned the Big Three, but there were a few other, lesser-known rockers during that era, including KBLA in Burbank, KDAY - Santa Monica, and KEZY, Anaheim.
I KNOW I've forgotten a lot of them.
And then came FM'rs, and things get reeeeeelll "hazy".......

But I agree with you, it's better to just have someone who does a lot of them do your brain surgery. That way you'll get a good warranty.
That's assuming it's not just a trunk cavorter. A lot of brain surgery is done needlessly when the real problem was in the TC.

"The term 'siren song' refers to an appeal that is hard to resist but that, if heeded, will lead to a bad result."

What, Bill? Your budding neurosurgery career, or the warranty on it that you were offering?
