im sure the tremic TR6060 from a GT500 can take the pounding of the weight of out over weight trucks. should bolt right up to our engines. everything else is going to be a total nightmare.

that is your best bet. It's designed for a car with 500+ HP/TQ that weighs about 4,000 lbs.

pretty strong tranny. then it's the problem with sourcing one, new crossmember for the tranny, PCM programming, new driveshaft, possible bellhousing mods (tranny designed for a 5.4 4v motor), drive tunnel fitment, sourcing Mustang/V-6 F-150 clutch assembly

major pain in the butt for no real reward

If you're going to tow or carry heavy loads with your truck, the tranny suggested may not be up to the task.

you'd basicly be shooting yourself in the foot just so you could drive a manual.....that tranny is not going to hold up to towing or heavy hauling.....plus your looking at thousands upon thousands of dollars of mods to get it all to work.....

also forgot to mention cutting a hole in the bottom of your truck to fit the shifter. clutch petal. running the cable lines for the clutch.

id say if you reallly wanted a stick in a modern truck thats a V8 your real options are 7.3 powerstroke dodge SRT10 ram. and chevy made a rare stick 2005 truck. i almost bought one. rumor has it chevy only made 500 of them. its currently pulling low 13s at the local drag strip.

Im guessing this would be a rather simple swap. Finding parts on the other hand...

What I have compiled that will be needed so far...

1. F250 5.4 six speed tranny and bellhousing and tcase.
2. 4.2 v6 clutch assembly or a nice aftermarket hydraulic unit.
3. Guy at superchips says turning off the auto tranny is easy!
4. Crossmember...Custom..No big deal
5. Custom length drive shafts
6. Cut hole in the floor or this
7. Enjoy rowing through the gears!

the ZF6 is a somewhat shirt throw but if you use the cables make the throw really short!
